How does Wiserfunding read NACE codes?

This article breaks down NACE code tiers to understand how it functions on Wiserfunding

NACE codes are subdivided into a hierarchical structure with four levels:

  1. 21 Sections identified by alphabetical letters A to U;
  2. 88 Divisions identified by two-digit numerical codes (01 to 99);
  3. 272 Groups identified by three-digit numerical codes (01.1 to 99.0);
  4. 615 Classes identified by four-digit numerical codes (01.11 to 99.00).

While the first four numbers of the code which correspond to the tiers of the classification system are the same in all the European states, individual countries and database suppliers may decide to add more levels.

Here is Wiserfunding’s NACE code to make it easier to understand:

Section M - Professional, scientific and technical activities
Division 70 - Activities of head offices; management consultancy activities
Group 70.2 - Management consultancy activities
Class 70.2.2 - Business and other management consultancy activities
