How do I interpret the Reliability Index?

This index helps understand the quality of the underlying data used to derive a risk assessment report.

We use large quantities of structured and unstructured data to drive our risk intelligence. At times, this data may be limited in nature or be volatile to variations in its dataset. This can be caused where newly established/young SMEs are being assessed, where the SME is smaller and is more susceptible to period-on-period movements, or where the SME is not required to file full datasets to local Companies Registries.

The tables below outline how we assess available data:

Reliability index values that we provide with CSV and XLSX workbooks include:

Reliability Index

Index Value

Reliable

> 0.65

Caution 0.65 .. 0.30
Concern < 0.30

Reliability Index A

If we find anything in the available data to be concerning or a reason to proceed with caution, we flag it with one, or more of the following:

Reliability Detail

Reason

Assets When companies present levels of total assets below 20,000 (in local currency).
Financials When companies present only 1 or 2 years of financial history.
Turnover When companies do not present a turnover figure.
Volatility When companies present large changes in scores.
Period When company financials are not filed periodically.

If you see caution or concern (or any reliability index value below .65) in our reliability indicator we recommend that you consider additional sources of financial data (such as management accounts) which you can upload under add more data which will enhance the risk intelligence of the assessment report.
