This article walks you through using WiserInsights to filter, sort, group and more.
WiserInsights, is a powerful tool that can be used to analyse data with its effective data management capabilities and data visualisation.
The key strength of WiserInsights is its customisation capabilities. Users can control the appearance of the table, and the interactions between columns.
Filtering columns
Clicking on the ≡ button within a column header expands its menu.
Within the column's menu, clicking on the filter button [∇] unlocks the column's filtering options.
Columns can be filtered by text, numbers, dates, and pre-set values.
Sorting columns
Clicking on an unsorted column header will sort the column in ascending order (0-9, a-z).
Clicking on the same column header again will sort the column in descending order (z-a, 9-0)
Clicking on the column a third time will reset the sorting to its default state.
Please note: to sort by BRE, please use the SME Z-Score column, as they are intricately linked: Mapping SME Z-Score <> BRE
Sort by multiple columns by holding down the shift key while clicking a column header.
The primary column will be indicated by the number 1 next to the column's header.
The rank of other columns will be similarly indicated.
This creates ranges within the sorting hierarchy.
Sorting multiple columns will always follow the hierarchal order set.
To rearrange the order of columns displayed within the table, drag-and-drop the columns left or right.
Pin columns
Clicking on the ≡ button within the column header expands the menu.
To pin a column, click on 'Pin Column' button.
Choose either Pin Left, Pin Right to pin the column. This will pin the column to the left or right of the table.
- To rearrange multiple pinned columns, drag-and-drop each column to the preferred order.
To unpin a column, click the ≡ button within the column header, then click on 'Pin Column' again, and 'No Pin'.
Grouping columns
Create a group by dragging a column header to the row above.
Create multiple groups by dragging more column headers to the row above.
Please note: grouping any pinned columns will remove the pinned status while the group is active.
When the group is removed, the pinned state is reactivated.
Hide and unhide columns
Clicking the 'Columns' button on the right of the table displays all the available column headers.
To hide or unhide columns from the table, uncheck or check their labels.
To rearrange the order of columns displayed within the table, drag-and-drop the columns up or down.
Changing column widths
Clicking on the ≡ button within the column header expands the menu.
To auto-size a column, click on 'Autosize This Column' button.
Clicking on 'Autosize All Columns' adjusts the width of all columns.
Manually fit column widths by dragging the column's border, indicated by the vertical line.
Multi select
To select multiple rows, checking a cell to focus that row, then while holding down the shift key check another row will create a range between both rows.
To select various individual rows, check multiple rows without holding down on the shift key.
Exporting selected items (table view)
Select (multiple) row(s) to export all enabled/visible fields.
To do this, right-click and select the 'Export Selected' option.
Choose between a CSV file and an Excel file for the export.
Export a company's Reports from within the data grid table.
To do this, right-click on the company, and select the 'Export' option.
Choose between a CSV, Excel and PDF files this export.
Charting Data
To chart data, select a range of cells, right click within the area selected, then select 'Chart Range'.
Charting options include: Pie, Column, and Bar.
Reset the table
Reset any set filters, grouping, sorting, etc by clicking the 'Reset Table' button at the bottom-right of the table.
